Another Blog

Posted on 23 February 2014

I had this crazy idea that it might be a good idea for us to keep a blog to share what we are up to, share some of the things we make and generally try to provide people with some helpful hints along the way.I have finally got some time to make a hammock for my own personal use, which I am planning on sewing completely with our old Singer treadle machine and then I will be making a top quilt for an upcoming trip into the Walls Of Jerusalem National Park. So documenting these projects may be helpful to others. There are so many DIY/MYOG people out there sharing generously with others which has helped me so much I would like to continue this spirit.

I just need to make sure it doesn't get in the way of this:

Simon·07 December 2014 - 08:37amHi James,

Sorry I totally missed your comment. Only 6 months late! The good news is that I have some wallets coming that are made out of XPac which would meet your needs.

James A·18 June 2014 - 06:34pmHi Simon

Very inspiring!!! I walked the AT last year and met your counterparts you mentioned (Dutch etc) at the trail days and bought a lot of their gear (hammock, quilts etc) so it is great to have you doing it from Tassie!!! I live in Canberra and want to move to Tassie in a few years to develop a little business related to the outdoors. In the meantime, I was wondering if you could make me credit card size wallet out of cuben fibre with a draw string to carry my credit cards and cash since my current one has nearly disintegrated? Thanks look forward to your reply. J

Simon·05 April 2014 - 08:44amThanks Mark. I need to make more of an effort to keep the blog updated. Once I finish writing up this build I will move onto a tarp build.
Getting your kids out in the bush is one of the best things you can do I reckon.
We have just got back from some platypus spotting at our local river and the platypus obliged.

Mark V·19 March 2014 - 03:35pmAwesome Simon, looking forward to seeing some more DIY gear and stories.

I hope to be doing the same thing with my little boy soon.
